Pastoral Care & Wellbeing Program

A safe and caring environment helps students thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Programs support the whole student by creating meaningful connections, nurturing personal growth, and offering support that evolves with each stage of schooling.

Grounded in the Coptic Orthodox faith and guided by the College values of Respect, Unity, Service, Resilience, and Growth, the program creates a culture where every student feels seen, supported, and equipped to flourish.

Our Wellbeing Programs in Detail

A strong wellbeing framework supports students in every stage of life. The College uses age-appropriate, research-informed programs to help students develop emotionally, socially, and spiritually. These initiatives run alongside daily routines, forming part of a consistent and supportive school culture.

Wellio is a structured online platform that supports student wellbeing through engaging and interactive pastoral care lessons. These sessions help students develop key life skills, such as:

  • Navigating peer pressure and social dynamics
  • Strengthening mindset and motivation
  • Building empathy and emotional resilience
  • Establishing healthy digital and personal relationships

With teacher-guided conversations and classroom follow-up, students are empowered to reflect, communicate, and grow into confident, emotionally intelligent young people.

Tailored for the Junior School, Open Parachute is an evidence-based wellbeing program designed by clinical psychologists. Using peer-led video content, the program teaches younger students how to understand and manage their emotions.

It offers:

  • Relatable stories to build empathy and self-awareness
  • Strategies for handling change and managing emotions
  • Opportunities to develop confidence and self-worth
  • Classroom activities to reinforce key wellbeing lessons

Open Parachute helps create a safe and supportive environment where emotional development is nurtured from an early age.

Spiritual wellbeing is a vital part of student development. Through dedicated classes and the presence of a College Chaplain, students are given time and space to reflect, grow in faith, and connect with Christian teachings.

This program includes:

  • Daily devotions and regular chapel services
  • Faith-based discussions grounded in Coptic Orthodox values
  • Opportunities to participate in spiritual retreats and community prayer
  • Student leadership in liturgical events and reflection groups like the St Athanasius Reading Circle

These experiences nurture resilience, humility, and a strong moral foundation—essential qualities for navigating school and life with purpose.
